Updated: Jun 23, 2020

With regattas cancelled or postponed in most parts of the world and travel being limited and ill-advised, sailors in Miami having been returning to the Snipe Fleet. Being on the water, on a double-handed boat is ideal for social distancing. Over course of the last month, the fleet has run clinics and races, making the most of hot Miami days and the New Normal.

High level teams have been committed to training Monday and Wednesday evenings during the week and racing on the weekends.

The fleet has also organized two clinics. The first clinic brought 14 participants and mainly focused on sailors entirely new to Snipe sailing. A few had no dinghy racing experience at all. The second clinic, on Father's Day, welcomed Snipe sailors of all levels. Some father's were happy to get rid of their kids on Father's Day, and one Father was happy to leave his kids at home and go sailing with his wife. Everyone enjoyed the day.
