The US Nationals were a success for all this year with a fifty-one boat fleet and four days of tough racing. The championship was hosted by Jubilee Yacht Club in protected waters north of Marblehead and Salem. The first three days of the regatta were marked by flat water and light wind, with the final two races being sailed in full hiking conditions. Miami's Kathleen Tocke sailing with Boston Yacht Club's Tomas Hornos, won the event on a tie-breaker with the Miami team of Augie Diaz and Margaux Bacro. Just one point behind the top two were Miami Fleet member, Ernesto Rodriguez sailing with Hallie Schiffman from Sarasota.
Ivan Shestopolov (Miami) sailing with Lexi Pline (Annapolis) found their groove on the final day and moved themselves up to sixth overall. Young Miami sailors, Tucker Week and Alex Sidi, finished eighth overall.
A big thank you goes out to Charlie Bess, who drove and managed the Miami Fleet boats in New England for the season. Bess sailed a top notch the event with Sharon Johnson (Ft. Lauderdale), and Christina Persson (Ft. Lauderdale) had a good regatta with young skipper Tyler Mowry.
